In 2009, we were asked to compile music for an ESPN compilation.  They were looking for multiple songs, with specific criteria. We asked our friends, producers and artists we had recorded or produced at Ishlab Music Studio.  There was so much great material that the initial selection process took time, then working with the client to decide on the final cuts took even longer.  Once we found the perfect tracks the rights clearance process took time. Finally, the payment process took even longer.

We ended up giving them great tracks and all were happy, but there was an aha moment - the light bulb was lit on the idea to create an automated marketplace for music licensing and curation.  Since then we have endeavored to create tools to make this process faster and easier for all - great content + IshTec.
